Role Play “The Healthy Egg”
An entrepreneurial role-playing game about planning a budget for the creation of a product "The Healthy Egg". The game is suitable for children from 12 to 17 years old. The participants are divided into groups of 4-5 children. If there are 25 people, they are divided into 5 groups of X 5 people. Artificial money must be made beforehand. Tokens purchased from children's stores can also be used.
Necessary materials for one group (x5). Materials for 5 groups must be purchased. Each item is priced. Only the eggs are free. Raw egg - 1 pc. – it doesn't come at a price because it's free. Cardboard A4 - 2 pcs - for 1 pc. cadastre = 40 Euros A4 sheets – 4 pcs. – for 1 piece = 20 Euros Plastic straws - 30 pcs. – for 1 pc. = 20 Euros Instant glue - 1 pc. - 1 piece. = 59 Euros Liquid glue for paper and cardboard - 1 pc. – for 1 pc. = 50 Euros. Tape - 1 piece, paper - for 1 meter = 40 Euros Paper scissors – 1 pc. = 80 Euros Model knife - 1 pc. = 80 Euros Match – 1 pc. only = 30 Euros Adhesive sheets small - colored - 1 stack - for 1 pc. ticket – 5 Euros Plastic cups - 1 pc. only = 100 Euros Plastic bag (small) - 2 pcs. – for 1 pc. = 70 Euros
Step 0 The presenter explains that the groups will be divided into five, and each group will receive a raw egg for free and money to buy items (items) with which they will later have to make a stable device around the egg. Finally, the facilitator will test the five structures around the groups' eggs by dropping them from a height of 3m onto a hard surface. For this phase no more than 5 min.
Step 1 First, the prices and items are arranged on the table. The price is placed in front of the item. It should be taken into account that some of the prices are for, for example, 1 meter of tape, and others are for 1 pc. scissors, or for 1 pc. sheet of cardboard A4 1 pc. mockup knife etc. This is done in advance, before starting the game!
Step 2 Each small group is divided into two small subgroups. The facilitator explains that each small group must choose a merchant to shop for the items. Then each group is given 3 minutes to look at the materials on the table - respectively, what prices, type of items, etc. They need to strategize what to buy and how they will authorize their merchant what to buy. They are given 5 min to consult the trader and create a buying strategy. Each group receives an amount of BGN 500-600.
Step 3 The buying and selling of materials for the egg begins. The five traders come to the table and start buying. First one buys one thing, then the other. They change so that everyone can buy what they need. After they have bought everything, they start working on the egg - making the device that will keep it safe after being dropped from a height of 3 m. If they happen to have kept a reserve of money they can buy more things. They can shop from each other ie. one group to shop for things from the other group, mainly for surplus items. They are given 30-40 minutes to work. Leaders observe teamwork, the distribution of roles. Who is the leader in the group, how do they make decisions, what to do and others.
Step 4 After they are ready, the egg is tested by dropping it from a height of 3 m onto terracotta or tiles. It can be photographed with a camera while releasing the eggs - this is done by trainers. First to one group, then to the other, allowing a little time to depressurize (cut the casings around it) the egg by the leader (or by a person from the same group). The healthy or broken egg is shown to the others. This is done with all 5 groups.
Step 5 Group briefing on leadership, teamwork, division of labor, roles, purchasing strategy. What do they think a healthy or a broken egg symbolizes? How did they plan their work? Did they have a plan or were they operating by trial and error?
Participants: Up to 5 people in 1 small team (group)
Duration: 15-29 min. for shopping; 30 – 40 min. for work; 15 minutes for testing the eggs and; 15 minutes for commentary (briefing) of the game.

Topics to analyze during the debriefing: communication, entrepreneurship, commercial skills, team roles, hearing, leadership, planning, performance, Mood;
5 x Euro 600 must be made for each group and another 5 X Euro 200 for the seller in the shop, i.e. for the host to give change back to merchants! The leader of the game is the role of the seller. The price tags listed above must also be made!
